Our psychotherapist Peter Tyldesley is a accredited BABCP Mental Health Practitioner and Cognitive Behaviour Therapist.
We provide a talking therapy service for adults (18+) experiencing a range of mental health issues. These include depression, anxiety states or feelings of panic that can arise when everyday problems get on top of us.
If you are finding it difficult to manage your life we can provide a service which may be of help to you as it provides an opportunity to talk and to be listened to. We offer a range of appropriate approaches including cognitive behaviour therapy, anxiety management techniques, brief solution focussed talking therapy, bibliotherapy, relaxation methods, neuro linguistic programming (NLP) and confidence coaching.

How Do I Access The Service?
Referrals accepted by direct contact from patient’s registered at The Village Practice by completing a referral form at the reception desk or by your general practitioner.

What Service can I Expect?
We will provide you with face to face sessions in a safe environment within surgery, where you are able to explore your feelings in order to come to a deeper understanding of yourself and ultimately be in a healthier position to achieve your goals in life. We will guide you in using a range of useful tools and techniques to help you address the difficulties you are experiencing. This will involve providing information about your symptoms, support and step-by-step guidance through the use of a range of mediums.
You will be offered up to 8-16 sessions dependent upon your needs, with the initial assessment appointment lasting approximately 1 hour. This will enable us to assess your needs and suitability for psychotherapy. Follow up sessions may be shorter dependent upon your needs.
