Welcome to The Village Practice
The Village Practice is a busy, efficient, and friendly practice, with approximately 9,000 patients. The staff are willing to be of assistance and will treat you with courtesy and understanding. Their job can be sometimes difficult, so they will appreciate your understanding and courtesy in return.
We have a zero-tolerance policy to abuse of any kind and patients in breach of this policy will be removed from our list.
To ensure safe prescribing we require an up-to-date medication list from your previous GP, once we have a list, we will be able to update your medication onto our system to enable you to order a prescription when needed. It is important therefore that you have enough medication from your previous GP to cover you for a period of at least 7 days.
Please note – 48 hours is required for ordering prescriptions
Before registering it is important that we make you aware that the doctors do not routinely or regularly prescribe the following types of medication.
- Oramorph/Morphine
- Zopiclone
- Diazepam
- Nitrazepam
- Temazepam
- Fentanyl
- Gabapentin
- Pregabalin
- Loprazolam
- Lorazepam
- Codeine
- Dihydrocodeine
- Tramadol
(This list is not exhaustive)
The Doctors offer a reduction programme for patients on these types of medication. The gradual reduction will take place over an agreed period of time (a signed agreement will be set up with individuals).
By registering at The Village Practice you are accepting that you will be placed on this programme and accept that you wish to abstain from these medications.
We look forward to working together with you to look after your health.
