Our Team

We have a highly experienced team of GPs in addition to our clinical team. As a member of a 4 practice PCN we are able to draw on additional clinical resources to ensure our patients are offered the best support possible.

Our Doctors

As well as our GP Partners, we also have a number of GPs and Doctors training to be GPs working at the practice.

Dr Vinesh R Sobha (M)

GP Partner

Bsc (hons), MBChB, MRCGP, MSc (Diabetes). Registered 2005 (Manchester UK)
Special interests: Minor Surgery & amp, Diabetes.Dr Vinesh Sobha has a first class honours in medical sciences and graduated from the University of Manchester in 2005. He has trained in the North-West of England. He also has a specialist interest in Diabetes and is a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion. He speaks nationally on Diabetes and has been a specialist committee member for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) looking at Quality Standards in Diabetes in England and has also been an Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Clinical adviser. He does steroid joint injections in the practice. He has an interest in cardiovascular disease and is also an RCGP leader in obesity and weight management. Dr Sobha is senior partner in the practice.Dr Sobha enyoys hiking and his favorite part of the UK is North-Wales and Anglesey. He also enjoys travelling to Mauritius and would advise everyone to travel there at least once.

Dr Steiner has a particular interest in womem’s, children’s and mental health.Away from her work as a GP Dr Steiner enjoys spending time with her family and friends, she keeps healthy by a combination of walking, running and cycling in the countryside. She also enjoys a good book.

We have a highly experienced team of other healthcare professionals including Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurses and Pharmacy Technicians.

Our Practice Nurses are available, by appointment, for advice on: diabetes management, asthma management, heart disease prevention, coronary disease follow-up, hypertension, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), contraceptive advice including coil fitting and weight & dietary advice.

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Jenny deals with acute, major and minor illness with referral made into hospital if specialist care is needed.

Primary qualifications: BSc Hons Nursing, MSc Advanced Clinical Care (Nursing) RCN Nurse Practitioner Award.Special interests: Elderly, Young Children, Acute exacerbations of Chronic Disease & ear nose & throat healthKay has been a Nurse since 2002 and a Nurse Practitioner since 2011. Kay has worked at The Village Practice for the last 5 years as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP). Kay deals with acute, major and minor illness with referral made into hospital if specialist care is needed. Kay runs same day appointment clinics Monday – Friday where patients are assessed, receive treatment and prescriptions.Away from work Kay enjoys spending time with her family and her fabulous Basset Hound Millie.

If you are  are a Patient with a long term health condition then your annual review may be carried out by our nursing staff. NHS health checks are also done by this excellent team.Along with these important checks and reviews our nursing team also give advice on healthy living and oral contraceptives. They check blood pressure, take blood, and carry out ECGs.

Specialises in: Patient liaisonPatient Service Assistant (PSA) is the person you see on reception when you attend the surgery, but the role involves much more than checking you in for your appointment.The PSA is the person you speak to when you need an appointment or prescription and are trained to triage the problem or symptoms you are reporting to establish which clinician is best suited to deal with your needs.A PSA will also act as a hub for communication between you and your Doctor as well as processing prescription requests and sample forms. The patient Service team is here to ensure that you are dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible and that any questions or concerns you may have about our service are resolved effectively, to give you the best possible care.

WIN PCN Team

Primary care networks (PCNs) form a key building block of the NHS long-term plan. Bringing general practices together to work at scale to provide a wider range of services to patients and to more easily integrate with the wider health and care system. 

The Village Practice is part of the WIN (Wyre Integrated Network) and work with Beechwood Surgery, Lockwood Surgery and Queensway Medical Centre to provide services and integrated staff to the four practices.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitors attached to our practice can be contacted on 01253 956548 between 9.00am – I0.00am & 4.00pm – 5.00pm.

They can offer confidential advice on all aspects of health for:

  • Pre-school children
  • Expectant mothers
  • Older people

They are specialists in public health & run various groups to meet identified needs within the population.

District Nursing Team

Our District Nurses deliver a high standard of nursing care in the home, to meet the needs of patients and their carers.  Their main aim is to:

  • Nurse patients in their own home following discharge from hospital
  • Offer specialist nursing care for acute and terminally ill people
  • Work with the GPs to maintain the health of patients by promoting their independence
  • Care for patients who are house-bound with chronic illness e.g. diabetes or heart disease.

Community Midwife

The midwife attends all the Antenatal clinics held every Monday afternoon.
